we have built a good side with the players we have! just need a few more to make us solid. I have built confidence with more or less every player i play alongside in the side but i know from previous experience of having two teams that it dont work. every one ends up leaving and playing for a side where they know all the players they play with. stick with one side and just add a few players to it. You have made some very good points, and to be fair they are the same points that a couple of other players have also brought up. I know if we added a couple of players to the squad (a right back, centre back, centre midfielder and a striker) we would have a very good side. The problem is this side was formed so me and a few friends could play football, now if I replace my friends, myself and my family in the side (I know I am one of the weaker players) then why would I carry on running the team? I created this side so I can play, not so I can rotate with 2 or 3 other players and get the occasional 30 mins. My way around this, which should please everyone, was to create a second team. One side made from predominatly O'Neills players, the other made from predominatly Woodies and Steve Laings players. This would create two good sides. If I had decided to stay as one team then I would have signed one or two players and kept all of last years players that wanted to stay. The same rules would have applied and everyone would play a fair amount of football. I decided it was better to have players like Claws, you, Pat, Aubs etc in one side and have another team with lived by the rules I wanted. Both teams will be set up to win, and if everyone signs then there will be some very close games between the two sides. My intention is for the club to get stronger, not just the team. Nearly every season I have to consider folding due to the club being in debt, this season we will make a profit althou currently we are still running at a loss!! If we have two sides it safe guards the future of the club. TBH if it isn't working out and after the first 5 games or so we are struggling for players I have the option to fold one of the sides during the season (which would only cost me £50) and amalgamate all the players into one team. If you are really unsure about the club running two teams ask me about it at the weekend and I'll give you some more info on it.

at the end of the day a few players i have spoke two have said that they would leave if there is to much hassle. i want to continue playing for this side but i wanna be guarenteed football week in week out. That is why we should have two teams. If there are two sides then EVERYONE is guarenteed a lot of football, even the poorest player. If we have one side then only a select few will play the amount of games they want to play and the rest will leave! Also, the people that say they will leave if it is too much hassle... Without wanting to be rude to anyone, how do the players get hassle if I run one side or two? No player got hassle during the last season (except for playing reasons, or if they were in violation of the club charter) and no player will have any hassle regardless of what I choose to do. The ONLY person gets any hassle from this team is ME (and my girlfriend...) The only thing anyone in the team need to do is turn up, pay their money and play football. There is no hassle involved. I'm the one that has to organise things, constantly remind people of the meeting time, make sure the kits are ok to play in, make sure we have enough players, make sure all the league documentation gets signed, make sure the club stays debt free whilst giving some players extra time to pay their match subs (every time someone is late paying I have to pay for them...), I have to keep payment records for everyone and everything, I have the hassle of making sure our sponsors are happy, I have to make sure the buffet is organised, I have to organise the man of the match tab, I have to update the web site, I have to keep 20+ players happy each week, I have to make sure we have a match and ref every week, I have to deal with the critisism from certain players when things go slightly wrong, I could list more but I'm sure you get the idea - I get hassle and stress all season, the players in the team get no hassle and stress (the only reason they have to get stressed is if they aren't playing) I deal with all this because I enjoy it. It is all hassle, but I am willing to go through it in order to play football. As players you have it easy, like I said all you have to do is respond to my text message, turn up, pay, play and attend the pub after the game. Most of the team struggle with those 5 simple things! The amount of players I have to re-text or call because they "forgot" to reply to my text is far too high. The amount of players who don't come to the pub after the game is also far too high, and will probably cost us our sponsorship next season (more hassle and stress for me). The point of this rant? Well, Luke, you brought up the subject of hassle. As players you all have no hassles. Everything is done for you, and, to be honest, I get a bit sick and tired when people say things like you stated in your post. There is a club charter, I do my best to stick to my side of it and I think I do well in what I provide for the club. All I ask is the players stick to their half of the club charter. Players should not be getting stressed, if everyone signs then we have two very good teams, if everyone doesn't sign then we will have one very good side. It's a Win-Win situation. Spleen vented and rant over!!

i think everyone who has disagreed with the idea of two teams has missed the point. its as simple as that!
1 luke.... two teams will enable you to play football, week in, week out with footballers who rate similar to yours and others abilities, with one team you run the risk of relying on less able players who are gonna waste your time getting up un a sunday morning..... i'm really fed up with that and can't be bothered anymore.
2. "im going to leave if im not in the A team" for gods sake, how old are you? sometimes we all as men and as human beings have to accept that other people are better than us at certain things, thats life! if that isn't the case then i should be playing in the 'hole' behind thierry henry not bergkamp, because I WANT TO!!!!!!
3. fringe players get to play football week in week out, there is no way that i want to sit on the bench every sunday for the a's so if i can get a game in the b's then fuck it im playing football.....
can we all stop refering to other players as leverage, i have read the msg board in full and have seen my brothers name, pats, ians and chris's name used to make a point too much... its unfair on them and i think its funny how the (what seems to be) best players in the team are getting on with it and keeping their mouths shut.
finally, if you dont like it that much then why not leave, try your luck in another team that only has one squad... oneills football club has moved forward since the days of scc... stop putting unfair pressure on darryl and boris just because they are old friends or familly, unfortunatley, that wont be enough to get you in the team this season so please stop trying to use this as your trump card, its unfair on people who haven't known you all for that long, its selfish!
oh, one more thing, im sorry maria but your opinions are invalid, i dont remember you at 1 game this season.... you dont know as much about the club and its players as you once did............ i dont even think you know who i am!
anyway..... thought id better join the moanathon.
bye bye

I think Ash was supporting me, so cheers (I think...)
It's good to see someone has finally seen the bigger picture and has realised two teams means more footy for everyone as 22 players get to start every week instead of just 11. Lets hope Ash's post is the first of many that have seen the light!!

How many more F**king times! Most of the players are my friends who I see and get updated on the football team on regular basis. There are only 4 players that I do not know out of the new team so get you facts straight before having a dig!
As Darryl put I am a member so I am entitled to my opinion, and as a person I am entitled to my opinion, anyone who comes on this website and makes themselves a member whether they are a player or not are entitled to their opinion. You could have the whole of Chelsea some on a become members and have their opinion that is the whole point of a message board.
Darryl I think you should go back to getting pissed in O'Neills and talking to people that has better results!

I'm going to delete the next post that bashes another member. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Maria, Ash and Luke are entitled to their opinion. If their opinion is that you can't comment about the team then fine. That is their opinion. You have 3 choices on what to do...
1. Agree that you shouldn't voice your opinion. 2. Disagree and think you should state your opinion. 3. Ignore them.
Simple. The more you post up replies about saying what you want gives everyone else more reason to bash you!
I've made my feelings clear on here as to what I think. You are all on here together and no ones doing anything to warrent banning so GET OVER IT!!!
Maria, there were a few players you didn't know last season. Aubs and Luke (two of our best and most reliable players last season) have never met you. There is also Ian, Rick Ash, Jai and Lee. There was also Steve Wells (who was behind the Claybrooks sponsorship) and Pat who you haven't seen play for at least 3 years. Of these players 6 played nearly every week and are probably wondering why you are voicing an opinion on a team that is totally different to the one you last saw play. I do not mind you posting your views, but you have to expect people questioning why you hold these views. It's like me deciding Spurs are great because another Spurs fan said they were. I would need to see for myself before making any kind of decision on the team.
Come and watch us play, then you can bash, support, whatever you want as you will know about the players then. Blind judgements are usually wrong.
The bashing stops now. I can edit your posts and I will... *(evil laugh)*

After a lot of consideration and weighing up of pros and cons I have decided to only run one side next season.
The main reason for this was losing nearly 12 players when Woodies decided to restart their team. This coupled with the recent poor showings for training and knock arounds meant I either had to recruit up to 15 new players or scrap my plan for two teams until the following season.
The two teams plan is still going to go ahead, but will go ahead the season after the one we are about to play.
This also means competition for places will be very fierce. When picking my team I will put a lot of emphasis on whether you are up to date on all payments, your attitude and if you are adhering to the club charter. Oh yes, and ability will also come into the equasion.
I currently have a squad of 27, but this will come down to around 18 or 19 once I stop badgering people to come down.
We are also still looking out for a goalkeeper for the new season. We have good options in the squad currently, but I want one more. Other than that we have a very fine squad.
Any constructive comments post them here...

It makes it easier on us supporters as we can not watch and cheer on both teams it would get very confusing :0) Never mind Darryl at least your team can form better this season this way.
